At Emtu, all of our wines are made from 100% organically grown pinot noir grapes. The wine is produced on-site, and aged in barrels for up to 18 months. At the moment we have a Rose of Pinot Noir, a dry rose that's excellent in the summer and fall, and a 100% Pinot Noir that will add to any occasion.
Our 100% Pinot Noir is truly exceptional, and is currently served at world-class restaurants including Chez Panisse and A16. In 2012 Alice Waters served our Pinot Noir at President Obama's inaugural dinner.
We're not on the same 12-month schedule as many large wineries, and we let our wines take a little longer to develop before bottling them. Grapes are harvested in the fall, and while our rose is ready to drink the next spring, our Pinot Noir spends a full 18 months in barrel and another three in bottle before it's available. Typically we release Rose in late spring (just in time for summer) and Pinot Noir in the fall, just before Thanksgiving.
Production is very limited, at less than 150 cases for 2014, and we are lucky enough to sell all of our wine each year. If you'd like to become a customer and receive an allotment when our wines become available, email Aaron for information.
